Chrissie Scelsi

Attorney

Chrissie Scelsi is a games and immersive entertainment attorney based in Orlando, Florida.  She advises clients on transactions, intellectual property, social media, advertising, ratings, influencer relations, licensing, content clearance and esports. 

Chrissie was previously U.S. General Counsel for a large award-winning game developer and publisher with products across PC, console, and mobile platforms. While there, she worked on a wide variety of matters that included licensing transactions involving some top IPs including Hot Wheels and Transformers, as well as co-marketing relationships, and a Super Bowl advertisement. 

Chrissie has also worked as a senior attorney at a top theme park and immersive experiences company on intellectual property licensing matters and in legal support for game-based simulations software and defense contracting. She has worked on open source and third-party software review, management and review of trademark portfolios, and drafting and maintaining terms and conditions and EULAs.  

Chrissie is the first woman president of the Video Game Bar Association. She is co-editor of the book Computer Games and Immersive Entertainment: Next Frontiers in Intellectual Property Law (2nd Edition), as well as Computer Games and Virtual Worlds: A New Frontier in Intellectual Property Law, and is a chapter contributor to both editions of The American Bar Association’s Legal Guide to Video Game Development.  

She has also worked on successful litigation that used the Dungeons and Dragons rule book as prior art, and resulted in a D&D reference in a federal court opinion!   Like the rest of the Odin Law team, Chrissie is an avid gamer, regularly getting her steps in playing Pokémon Go.
