We’d like to issue an enthusiastic welcome to Rachel Ann Stephens and Christy Coates. Rachel and Christy are joining Odin Law and Media as our new clerks.
Rachel Ann Stephens is a second-year at University of North Carolina Law with a passion for media law and its interaction with entertainment mediums such as film, television, and video games. This interest developed while serving as a film programmer at the Florida State University’s Student Life Cinema, where she worked to bring a range of films to the student body, from Gone with the Wind to Tommy Wiseau’s The Room. Now a member of the International Trademark Association and the North Carolina Bar Association, she recently submitted her paper for publication “Down the Drain: Flushable Wipes Litigation and the Ineffectiveness of First Amendment Restrictions in Misleading Commercial Speech.” At UNC Law, Rachel Ann is the Vice President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Association, the Treasurer of Media Law Society, and a Staff Member on First Amendment Law Review. When not studying you can find Rachel Ann watching movies, going for a run, or if it’s after 9 PM, singing at karaoke bars.
Christy Coates is a third-year law student at the UNC School of Law where she focuses on entertainment law and intellectual property. Christy is a huge music fan and loves going to live shows. She also enjoys gaming, movies, TV and animals. Christy will sit for the bar in July and aspires to be an entertainment and intellectual property lawyer.
