Veda Cruz, Attorney of Counsel

Veda brings a unique blend of legal and game industry experience, combining her work on transactions, intellectual property, privacy, licensing, and business strategy with firsthand involvement in game development. Her deep understanding of the industry comes not just from handling legal matters, but from actively participating in the creative process.

With a background as in-house counsel for Gearbox Entertainment on both the development and publishing side, she brings a well-rounded view of the challenges and opportunities in the industry, making her a valuable resource for clients. She shares that experience as a professor at the University of Miami, teaching video game law and business to the next generation of industry professionals.

Beyond the law, Veda is an active part of the game development community. A Certified Scrum Master with a passion for production, she participates in game jams, creates and publishes her own games, and advocates for the well-being of game industry professionals as a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach.

When she’s not advocating for clients, you can find her training in taekwondo and jiu-jitsu, hunting down retro games, or diving into her next creative project.
