As of September 25, 2023, SAG-AFTRA’s members voted 98.32% in favor of a strike authorization on the Interactive Media Agreement which covers the union’s work on video games. The industry bargaining group representing signatory game companies to the Interactive Media Agreement consists of the following companies: Activision Productions Inc., Blindlight LLC, Disney Character Voices Inc., Electronic Arts Productions Inc., Epic Games, Inc., Formosa Interactive LLC, Insomniac Games Inc., Take 2 Productions Inc., VoiceWorks Productions Inc., and WB Games Inc.
The Interactive Media Agreement governs work for the video game industry including off-camera work such as voice overs, on-camera work such as motion capture, stunt performers, singers, dancers, puppeteers and background performers. If the Members vote for a strike authorization, it does not initiate a strike against the video game companies. Instead, the strike authorization permits SAG-AFTRA to declare a strike against the video game companies.
